Student council members had a passion to help those suffering with Breast Cancer. This past October, the council members decided to be proactive by starting a new QG tradition of “QG Pink Day”. Students donated $1.00 to wear pink items, purchased pink cup cakes, and pink lemonade! The students raised $250.00 for Carolinas Breast Friends!  Here are just a few facts worth knowing about breast cancer:

• 1 in 8 women will receive a breast cancer diagnoses in their lifetime
• According to the World Health Organization  Breast Cancer is the most widely form of cancer for women world wide
• Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.
• Each year it is estimated that over 230,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
